Waking up randomly one day and thinking of what random acts of kindness I can do for strangers has not been a normal practice for me. Yes, I am not unfamiliar with compassionate love and fortunately have had my fair share in sincerely reaching out to help those in need, but pushing myself to look out specifically to give a random act of kindness is something I have not tried. A fruitful exercise from our local community, aptly named “Somewhere Down The Road” addressed just that. Continue reading “Somewhere Down The Road – A Random Act of Kindness Workshop”
A fruitful effort to help the elderly and abandoned to start anew – overhaul cleaning, repainting, buying new furnitures, and bring more meaning to their twilight years. Continue reading “Outreach Program at Chia Chee rd SG”
Some time before 2006, I was generally apathetic to charity, largely detached from the idea of giving or the compassionate aspects of activism. Basically “socially unaware”. But then in contrast, I used to blurb about changes in society and the political fixes that supposedly can “cure” the cancer of our society and culture. I frequently debate and argue about all those; all talk no deed. In one of a sparring of words and principles with another highly opinionated (yet comfortably rests on the opposite view of things) colleagues – my then Manager/Supervisor in a company I used to work for, confronted me with a valuable principle that put me in my place: Continue reading “Make a change. Don’t say.”
It’s been 6 months or so now since I have departed from regular employment and started working at home
And it’s quite surprising how life-changing it is, in a certain point of view. Continue reading “10 Things I’m experiencing while working at home”
Meralco Week 2010 – Elevation
Last March 2010, Meralco (Manila Electric Company, Philippines) celebrated Meralco Week dubbed “Elevation” and I have been going in the head office’s compound (Ortigas, Pasig) recently, around Business Solutions Center. In lieu of this month-long celebration, they have built their very own Transformer robot named Lightbringer, a company service vehicle.
Got my personal copy of Smashing Book!
After months of waiting straight from Germany, finally got my own copy of the popular design book “The Smashing Book” by Smashing Magazine
And what can I say, the almost complete guide for a web designer, developer & practitioner. A compendium of tips, guides, and modern standards from Typography, CSS, and Web Optimization
In lieu of the launching of my brand Antworks Digital Design & Concepts, the book really comes in handy – a definitive guide to modern web design standards

SM Mall of Asia Premier Cinema
The finale event of the Manila Design Week 2009, and most probably the notable. What has become (in its 4th run now) the premier annual event in the Graphic Design world here in the Philippines – Graphika Manila.
This was my first attendance since the event’s inception in 2006, together with the Orange & Bronze Creative team.
What surprised me in the event itself is when I found out the fact that Aram Beheshti, all the while, is Graphika Manila’s foremost inventor and big boss, who’s actually a schoolmate of mine in Don Bosco during college. We soon hope Orange & Bronze Creative team would be a sponsor on next year’s event!
Orange & Bronze Software Labs has always been known (in a manner of speaking, popular) for having a “Happy Place” to work in, not only for its armada of Software Developers, but for all of its also happy and dynamic employees. O&B has uniquely adapted an unconventional working climate they call a happy place – defying the norms of conventional cubicle confined corporate offices, stiff and uptight working environments, and even stereotype grouchy bosses in suits and ties. So despite the still inevitable constant stress and tight deadlines, people in O&B manage to keep a cheerful mood and enthusiasm within the work place that makes everything still fun to do. A distinct flavor as it is a rarity (at least here in the local industry) for a very extensive technical nature of work to simultaneously maintain an element of fun and glee. O&B managed to do just that and the idea works very efficiently. Not only does it suit the company’s Agile practices in doing business, it’s also a main factor how O&B maintains a very steady pool of employees since the company’s formation. The best way to time travel with an existing Time Machine
My point of view exactly, in the concept of time travel, is more than its possibility or impossibility…but rather, on how it could be done. Since the beginning of the modern age, man has been fascinated with the concept of time travel. It has been depicted, envisioned, in countless books and movies. Concepts and different interpretations of time machines from microscopic scales to gigantic futuristic machines. Some even visualized time travel through hypnosis, that through the mind, one can physically alternate reality and physiologically alternate time itself. After the ocean and space, time has become man’s final frontier. That remains to be a theory, a dream, a hope. Continue reading “Time Travel Made Easy”
